Nanoemulsions
Break oil droplets down to a fine, uniform size.
Useful forPharma, food and cosmetic emulsionsHigh Pressure Homogenizer
A high-pressure homogeniser forces a liquid through a narrow valve gap to break droplets, particles and cells down to a fine, uniform size. It is used to make nanoemulsions, stable dispersions and cell lysates.
A piston pump pressurises the liquid, typically to several hundred or over a thousand bar, and forces it through an adjustable gap only micrometres wide. Intense shear, turbulence and cavitation in the gap break droplets, agglomerates and cells apart; repeated passes narrow the size distribution further.
Compared with stirring or an ultrasonic probe, homogenisation treats the whole volume evenly and scales from lab batches towards production, which makes it the usual route to nanoemulsions, liposomes and bulk cell disruption.
The liquid sample or pre-mixed coarse emulsion is poured into the feed reservoir.

The liquid shoots through a narrow valve gap, where shear, turbulence and cavitation break it up.
The product is cooled and passed again until the target size is reached, then returned to you.
